Job Content

  • To follow up and action GE leads generated by branches, field sales force and any other medium – promptly and professionally
  • Work in conjunction with the network sales teams to maximise sales of garage equipment.
  • To complete quotations to a high standard and accuracy and follow up on GE leads as required.
  • To liase with suppliers on installations and ensure satisfactory completion of GE projects to the customers satisfaction
  • To assist in finance quotations and leasing arrangements to support our sales activities
  • To provide specialist knowledge and skills such as workshop planning, suitability of equipment, etc. to our customers and branch networks.
  • To create and manage structured sales plans to achieve budgeted revenue in Garage Equipment working in conjunction with the Regional General Managers and branch teams
  • To develop sales volume and expertise in capital equipment product within the Independent garage, Body shops, selected major account, dealer group and commercial vehicle customer base.
  • To actively canvass pro actively garage equipment sales in all areas of the aftermarket.
  • To assist in training staff and developing relevant teams in respect of garage equipment sales and technical competency at a basic level.
  • To ensure MPD have solid and shared destiny working relationships with our suppliers sales area representatives to the benefit of Motor Parts Direct

Branch staff, field sales team, Regional Managers, equipment suppliers and senior management

Responsible for:

All garage equipment sales and potential sales within customer and market place scope.

Main Contacts:

Able to communicate and liaise with customers at all levels, field sales teams, branches, suppliers, and any other departments using excellent administration and communication skills.

Essential/Desirable Qualifications:

Experience and technical competency relevant to the garage equipment product, customers, competitor information and market place.

Essential/Desirable Experience:

At least 2 years experience in a field sales role-ideally in garage equipment.

In depth knowledge of Motor Parts Direct customers, our market and sales potential.

Hold a current full clean driving licence.

It literate to Microsoft office level, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Good understanding of business ratios and profit margin expectations

Ability to plan and advice workshop layout along with knowledge of VOSA regulations regarding new MOT testing

Awareness of Health & Safety, Loler and Power regulations regarding vehicle lifting etc

Self-motivation and the ability to work largely unsupervised in the field to a high standard

Knowledge of finance packages, leasing and the benefits to MPD and our customers.

Good all round knowledge of GE market and competitors.

Currently living centrally within the sales area for which you are employed to manage

Technical/Product Knowledge:

Excellent working knowledge of Garage equipment products, sales processes, and legislative requirements.

Essential/Desirable Skills/Competencies:

Excellent presentation and oral communication skills.

Able to work unsupervised to achieve business goals and sales targets

Able to demonstrate strong awareness of customer requirements.

Be motivated to achieve results.

Ability to manage customer issues via negotiation and support through to a satisfactory conclusion

Mobility/Location Requirements:

This is a field-based position covering an extensive area and will necessitate considerable travelling and occasional overnight stays.

Full Time, Warehouse Supervisor (Winchester Depot/Distribution Centre) 21/02/2019

We have a vacancy for a full time Warehouse Supervisor at our Winchester Depot/Distribution Centre. The position will require you to manage the daily stock movements to the local branches along with accurate stock control. Other warehouse duties will also need to be completed as and when required. The ideal candidate will have an understand of Motor Factor business looking for a move a more progressive company.  Skills required will include excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. We have vacancy for an Assistant Manager/Parts Advisor covering our Royston branch. The ideal candidate will be currently working in the motor industry either as an experienced parts person or currently an assistant manager in the Motor Factor business looking for a move to a more progressive company. They must currently be working within the motor industry in parts or fitting, or even an enthusiastic DIY person interested in the motor industry. Day to day duties include, dealing with garage enquiries using technical software / catalogues also including various administrative duties. Be able to work on their own initiative and to successfully assist to manage a team to produce a budget performance. Skills required will include excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, Have strong leadership skills, be analytical and methodical in your approach to problems, be motivated and results driven, Be able to act quickly and decisively.
